unable to open downloaded files

First I downloaded tweakui to try to unstick or speed up pages when I'm online.Now when I try to open a downloaded file,the box just flashes and I have to reboot in order to clear it.

Hi kejacks57 - welcome to CTH. I gather that you installed TweakUI. Did you use it to change settings and if so, which settings did you change?
