I did some digging on the internet and found 2 possibilities, though for all I know there might be more. One is that there is not enough space on the disk which is possible since there is not much room on the HD. Maybe I should reduce the size of the page file.

The other is pasted below:

112: Internal Error in Windows Installer
On Windows, you need to map a drive to the CD reader if you are installing from a
remote CD reader (that isn’t located on your machine). Otherwise, you will get the
error message "112: Internal Error in Windows Installer". Map the CD reader and then
run index.html to start the installation wizard.

How do I make sure a drive is mapped to my cd-rom?
Could there be some other settings or properties having to do with the cd-rom that need to be set right?

I was trying to install BOINC with the installer program located on the CD.

I'm not sure I had any version of Windows Installer on there in the first place. I got a hold of a file called msiexec.exe and put it in c:\windows\system .

That allowed BOINC 4.45 beyond that point but not BOINC 5.2.13 . When I tried 5.2.13 it gave an error message listing the versions of Windows needed and they were all of the versions of Windows released after 95. I then got a newer version of msiexec.exe (2.0.2600.2) and put it in c:\windows\system and now 5.2.13 gets beyond that point too.

Do I have BOINC working on there now? No. There's another road block I'm at now but I don't think it's for the Windows 95 forum.

Actually, I was told that Windows Installer = msiexec.exe at the setiathome forum.
