I have Nortons 2000 6.0

My last update on my virus updates is listed as 9/11 and I have tried to update twice again but it keeps telling me that there are no updates available and I find that odd.

I renewed in April of this year so I know my subscription has not run out. Should I just assume it is telling me correctly? I just find it strange that in 6 days there are no current updates.

Thanks so much!!!

Hi perpexed,

They probably put up this update (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/download.html) 15 minutes after you posted here. ;)

hey my friend and thanks, I just tried to do the update through my live update on Nortons and got the same message that there are no new updates, what is wrong?

here is what it tells me
all the components and products currently on your computer are up to date

It's a bit-of-a-read but they explain the differences between
the LiveUpdater and the Itelligent Updater (http://service4.symantec.com/SUPPORT/sharedtech.nsf/docid/2002021908382713).

So Spider what the article is that there may be updates but unless their is a major virus that there will no longer be daily downloads , am I understanding the article? What if I upgrade to 2003 would I get daily downloads?

So what do you think I should do? I am going to get 2003 as soon as I can, did you read my post about two weeks ago about my first virus, I was freaked out HA! HA! Nortons would not let me do anything either, if you have time read my post please.

It now says I am clean I don't know, that virus had to go someplace, you know what I mean????

Thanks and glad your back!

UPDATE,, I just tried to get the live updates and it worked!!! Can someone give me the name of the most recent virus and let me see if my nortons is protecting me from it?? I wanna see if it is on the list of definitions I just downloaded.
Thanks

Intelligent Updater is geared more for corporations.
LiveUpdate is what you have and want. If another virus
breaks out Symantec (Norton) makes sure Intelligent
and Live updaters both get the definitions.

I will read up on it.

Not many virii survive a clean-and-kill from good antivirus software.
I wouldn't worry about it unless your machine has numerous
"odd" problems.
Thanks and glad your back!
Tnx...I'm actually ½ back. My main system awaits me still ;)

Pick from this list (http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo).

Well I bit the bullet and got 2003 Nortons I feel BETTER, it had a rebbate too so I am a happy camper LOL LOL LOL

I uninstalled the old and put on the new thanks to all of you and of course Spider giving me confidence (watch this computer blow up) HA HA.I hope not.

I went to run and typed in Nortons 2000 and alot of files came up, I think they are the shared files I was scared to delete, How do I know what is safe to delete? Is there a way to copy and paste them here so you can tell me.

Thanks again!!!!!!;)
