View Full Version : Wireless card issues emergency

So i jsut bought a WG311 V3 netgear wireless pci card so i can acess the internet from the computer in my room off the router in teh basement, and i can acess it for around 5 minutes then it cuts me offf and it stops workign then i try again and at the bottom it says detecting proxy settings, i havea wep key on the router. I could really use your help on this one so thanks for your time if oyu know wat the issue may be. (also their is this peice of paper that came with the card that says it has not been digitally signed yet for xp. My router is DI 624 the one that is 15 times faster. And i really need my internet to work again or i cant finish my finale this is my 3 time writing this message i havent been able to post before cause it freezes on me by the way the range is good and very good.

i think i already answered this before, but this could be a range issue. check your wireless connection speed/quality by putting your mouse over the wifi icon on your taskbar[assuming you are using xp] post the data back here

my connection is very good it just that it stops working after like 10 minutes of use and then its the this page cannot be displayed message its a Wg311 v3 wireless card the one that hasent been digitally signed yet.

You may want to check the properities for that wi-fi adapter. Go to the tab that looks like this...

Make sure the checkbox is NOT checked to allow computer to turn that device off to save power. Also check any firewalls that you may have running to see that they don't stop access after time goes by. You may also want to check the duplex or link speed in the adapters properities make sure its set to either auto or full duplex.

I don't think the WG311 V3 is Super G capable.
Try setting your router to Super G disabled and see what happens.

just try to download the latest drivers.It seems that the XP o/s drivers are not correct.
