Most of you know i have had problems since i had to upgrade to Netgear MA111 VERSION 2 -- It doesnt Init. propely @ bootup,etc.......

Could updating the 2 files that control USB ROOT HUB ( Ntkern.vxd and Usbhub.sys) Work?????

Right now i have Version 4.10.2224 of "NTkern.vxd" and Version 4.10.2225 of "Usbhub.sys"

If i put newer versions of these files on my computer would it change how the ports are enabled????

When i fgirst bootup,my router is ON,during bootup it fails (Light blinks) I have to unplug it from the port then re-insert it......

I had NO PROBLEMS @ ALL WITH THE 1ST VERSION (MA111 v1)

Thanx all :)

Usually I wouldn't say those types of files have updates major enough to warrant upgrading them, but just checking Usbhub.sys, mine is version 5.1.2600. That's a pretty major leap; I assume you're still using Win98? You have to remember that Win98 was designed with basically zero USB support, other than a couple of drivers thrown in at the last moment. What you're experienceing is most likely, IMHO, a reflection of that situation. Is there any particular reason you don't want to/can't upgrade to XP?

Alot of functionality is removed,etc....

98se is my favorite OS :)

Thank you my friend for your input :)

Top 10 reasons for moving to Windows XP Pro (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/evaluation/whyupgrade/top10.mspx). Somwhere in that propaganda there's some legitimate reasons to, and they don't even mention the enhanced compatibility and stability. Having used both OSs for more than 3 years each I can say those features do exist. What functionality is it exactly you think is in Win98, but not in XP?
