my windows 2000 computer will not boot. it starts to load and then an error message appears that say something along the lines of:
Windows 2000 cannot start because the following files may be corrupt or missing : winnt\system32\config\systemced Please repair(or do something) with the original Windows 2000 Setup floppy or CD I have looked seemingly all over the internet and there doesnt seem to be an error message just like this, it does not contain the word "root" like all the others i found. I do not have any Windows 2000 CD's or floppys and i cannot access the SETUP area of the boot because it is protected by an administrative password i do not have (its a used computer). I have read that i could use my emergency boot disk but i dont have one, is their somewhere i could download one? I have tried going to Advanced Startup Mode and selecting safe mode and Last Working (or whatever it is) Configuration, didn't work! Please, someone help me! Is my computer shot? I am so aggravated with it I might shoot it! |

Here is your error and steps to fix it......
http://support.microsoft.com/?KBID=269075 You will need to make the 2K setup floppies to be able to boot to the recovery console. You can get the download for them here... http://freepctech.com/pc/002/files010.shtml Good Luck ! |
