Im trying to set up a netgear wgr614 wireless router and when im going through the installation after i hook it up it begins to restart my network. It then begins to redirect me to http://www.routerlogin.net so i can access the router and set it up but the request always times out on me. i dont know what the problem is. i have tried updating the driver on my NIC.

Use a wired connection and try is manually.
Can't Use the Router CD to Configure (http://kbserver.netgear.com/inquira/default.asp?ui_mode=answer&prior_transaction_id=1675213&action_code=5&highlight_info=16777309,47,84&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fkbserver.netgear.com%2Fkb_web_fi les%2FN101521.asp&answer_id=188334735#__highlight)

It still isnt working. I don't think it had to do with the CD. My computer want make a logical connection to the router. All the lights are on as if the connection is there but whenever i hook everything up the router doesnt respond and times out when i try to access it. This is preventing me from being online as well although the connection is there.

Did you try 192.168.0.1 as the login address?

Yes, I have pinged both 192.168.0.1 as well as 192.168.1.1 and both are timing out

I suspect your computer is not on the 192.168.0.x ip.
Use a Command Prompt (START - RUN and type CMD )
Then try IPCONFIG /ALL
You may just need to reset your computer's network ID
