I updated to ie 6 a few weeks back and now it quite often freezes if I am on a page that uses streaming video or if I open up more than 2 pages at a time.
I have up to date mirosoft patches etc.

Sometimes I get this error message:

An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION occurred at PC=0xBFF7B9A6
Function=[Unknown.]
Library=(N/A)

NOTE: We are unable to locate the function name symbol for the error
just occurred. Please refer to release documentation for possible
reason and solutions.

I had 1.4 so I installed 1.41 and repaired IE6 using add/remove (repair) option.

Seems to working ok now :D I will keep you posted if there are any more developements.

Thanks :)

The final act in my ongoing saga with windows,explorer etc.
My hardrive, which has been getting increasingly worse with bad sectors of late, [failed] on thursday night so I reinstalled for the umpteenth time and everything was cool (see above post) that was until this morning were I was greeted with the windows splash screen and that was as far as she would get!

I very calmly removed said drive from the computer and hurled it at the floor, not surprisingly it made a funny whiring sound when I put it back in. lol

I took the drive outside, gently placed it on the ground and beat the living crap out of it with a hammer.

It was very therapeutic, I highly recommend it :D
