I bought a digital camera (DXG 502) the day after Thanksgiving, only to find out that about once every three times it is turned on, the LCD backlight turns on, but there is no picture. So, I exchanged it for another one, only hear (after getting back of course) a noise that sounded like gears striping every time the lens is moved. Then, I exchanged it yet again to find that the next one has a faulty speaker, and that there are two short video clips of the manufacturing or distribution facility. I'm afraid of what might be wrong with the next one if I exchange it again.:dizzy:
Do you think I should bite the bullet and keep it, or exchange it again?

I thought about it, but I'd rather save for a new computer and college, so I'm not sure if I want to.

Contact the makers and see if they're aware of such problems. When I purchased this scanner that I have, I had to return it three times, each time there was problems. So I contacted Epson and the guy tried to help resolve the problem, but couldn't. But he asked for all the numbers off the back of the scanner, then called back a day later saying that the scanner numbers matched a batch of "iffy" scanners. He then worked out a way of getting one to me that actually worked. :)

This one's speaker is bad as well, and I went to a different store location. The buttons and sound when it turns on/off sounded fine this time, but I got back and took a video clip and found out the speaker is bad again. It also makes a little more noise zooming in and out than the others (except the one with bad gears). I might just return it, but if I do, I'm not sure if I even want to try buying another digital camera.

I'd sack this one and pay the difference on a better one too.

I just went to exchange my camera for the final time (after an eye appointment, so I'll probably have a few typos) but they were out of them. I'll go to the other store soon to try a final one, and if it doesn't work, I'll just get my money back, and probably get a new one. I'm looking at this (http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=9/19/131/6770&pq-locale=en_US) (I found it for $200), but that's more than I originally planned to spend, so I'm not sure.
PS: About the one camera I'm looking at, what is this for?
Lens threads for 37 mm lens adapter
Is it to connect to microscopes and stuff?
