Just confirming, it's ok to delete .tmp files isn't it? Coz my windows dir has got a truckload of them (nearly 3000!)

Yep!! Just as a precaution shutdown and reboot to clear any programs require them. Only needed if you have recently installed any software and have rebooted.

All these TMP's are created by a program called MDM that gets installed with Office. It is NOT required. (and delete all the tmp files)
Run MSCONFIG > Startup Tab and UNselect it.
