I download the file "InstallAIM4.7.bin" to install AIM on my Max OSX, but Excel says, "This file is not in a recognizable format." what to do?

If you are running OS X then you have iChat, then all you need is an AIM identity to use for the sign-in and you will be connected to the AIM network.

yeah, what DOES Excel have to do with anything? I downloaded the installer for AIM and its .bin wanted to be opened in Excel. then I realized that indeed, iChat was all I needed, and that sometimes my brane reverts to its comprehension of the internet circa 1996. all is well now; thank you, o knowledgable cybertechies!
