I have one laptop out of many on my network

Windows XP
Logging into a NT 4 Enterprise server
Novell 5

I can ping any machine on the network and they can ping me, but I cannot ping the address of the NT server but all other PC's can.
I have checked / copied settings from other machnies but still no good.

I can even see the network drive from this laptop so why cant I ping it????

Thanks

Matt

Hey Max, sorry for the delay in responding. I dont know anything about Networking. Sorry I can't help.

I am going to move this one to the Networking forum. Goodluck.

Check to see if your default gateway and subnet mask on your laptop is correct. Is the nt server on a different subnet?

Hope this helps,
Vahju

I ahve checked these settings and all are the same, but I have recently been informed that no laptop user when they RAS into the server can use TCP but when they dock on site via a network cable have no problems!!

I have tried Ping over RAS but comes back with a request timed out.

Server: NT 4 Enterprise
Client: Windows 2000
