I have an external mouse that I am trying to put on my Compaq Armada 7400 laptop. I can't get it to work, it will show up but it's not controllable. I think I might need to disable the onboard mouse to get it to work. How can I do this in bios?

Hi ferndoodle,

What you can try is removing the driver for the old mouse.
Open Device Manager (windows-key + pause/break-key)
open Mouse and click once on the mouse driver then
Remove(button)
keep saying OK till everything is closed, then reboot.

If that doesn't help, tell us what make/model mouse you have and
maybe we can find something for it.
