Unhappy Missing "LVol.exe"

Help~
I keep getting this error message:

Windows cannot find lvol".exe.
This program is needed for opening files of type 'application'.

I'm pretty sure that I need to reinstall windows since I can't download anything (because I keep getting the message error). I received Windows 95 from my last job (which I no longer work at). I do not have a hard copy of windows 95.

I can't find any info on that file...

Can you post your startups please?

Click Start > Run > type msinfo32 and click OK
Click Software Enviroment/ Startup Programs.
Click edit, select all, edit, copy, Then paste in a reply.

I can't open anything without that message coming up..I've even tried several ways..I'm pretty sure that I need to reinstall windows 95..

What application opens *****application/x-msdownload*** or actually anything .exe

For some reason I have LVOL opening that up(and anything ending with .exe )..and my computer can't find it.

I have tried to cut and paste several times and all different ways and it won't do it...

I am still working on copying and pasting .

Hi annlucas68, Do you have access to another machine? If so go here and download EXEfix08.com to a clean floppy disk. Once downloaded to the floppy, write protect the floppy.

http://home.earthlink.net/~rmbox/Ret...d/Only_IE.html

(Try to use a floppy that was not used in the computer you are having problems with, If it is a virus causing this , I don't want you spreading the infection to another machine)

Insert the exe08 floppy in your problem machine and run it. It will repair your exe associations.
When it is finished, try a couple of programs. If they work, go online and run a virus scan at either of these two:

http://housecall.antivirus.com/

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/

Let me know the results.
