What games? Got all your drivers installed? It could also be the video card, given the brand isn't that good.

I wouldn't trust anyone other than ASUS, eVGA or XFX for GeForce video cards, but there's a lot of software options to consider before you go buying new hardware. Do you have the nVidia Forceware drivers installed? What version? Bad RAM might also be something to consider; is it one stick or two? Is all 1GB of it detected in the BIOS?

I'm not a hardware expert so I'm taking a chance posting here but I did find some interesting information about the video card you have: "As it's the AGP version of the GeForce 6600 GT, it needs to draw power from both the AGP slot and an extra Molex connector. However, PNY doesn't bundle a Molex splitter in the box, so you'll need to make sure your PSU has a spare plug."
I have only a vague idea of what a Molex connector is or does but since the article says the card needs one but doesn't come with one, perhaps one of the hardware experts here can provide further input.

Ah well, it was worth a shot...might have been an easy fix. No such luck.

That would have most likely been the cause, had it not been plugged in. The article you mentioned simply says PNY don't package a splitter with the card (essentially a double adapter for cable connections), but most PSUs would have an adequate number of available Molex connections anyway.
so is it worth getting new graphics card?or is ther anything i can do to better my card i have now??Your card should be good enough. It could just be a crap brand causing troubles, but is not likely the problem.
sorry no to sharp with comps yet what is nvida forceware?(prob really obvious)Forceware is just the name nVidia give to their graphics drivers. Installing the latest version may solve your problem.
i have 2 sticks of ram(200mhz) i think and yes all ram is detected in BIOSTry running Memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/) to test if either of your sticks are bad.
