Thanks to Idnew for the help!..But....
Idnew your solution re: error 7323 worked really well thanks! However i discovered a new even worse problem. Can anyone help me restore SYSTEM.INI I've tried everything scanreg/fix scanreg/restore and re-loading 98 se.This is a real pain as my webcam and hotmail won't function.I do have a floppy with this file on it..but what i was told to do didn't work. arg!! btw that ghost vid scared the #### out of me!!! lol..

Well thank you very much. Here try this.
Click Start Click Shutdown Choose to restart the computer in MS-DOS mode and click ok. Once at the MS-DOS prompt type the below commands to restore the system.ini cd\windows <press enter> ren system.ini system.ch <press enter> If after attempting to rename the system.ini you receive File not found, continue to follow the below steps. ren system. system.ini <press enter> If after attempting to type the above command you receive file not found, follow the below instructions. If you do not receive a message your system.ini should be restored to its original state. dir system.* Save the System.ini file and then exit the editor. To save the file, press ALT+F, press X, and then press Y. Type win to start Windows
