my problem is that when i play music videos in win media player or i play games on my pc they insanely are dark but anything else is nice and bright...well not too bright just normal my pc is really outdated my graphix card is an intel i152 or something like that i have a ten gb har drive but ive had this pc for about 2 yrs about 3 weeks ago i installed xp i was running 98 at the time but about 4 months before that i didnt have the display problem until i formatted my pc...(4 get y i 4matted) any idea how to fix this...... changing the color from 16 bit to 24 bit makes no change.....thats all i have.......:dizzy: :dizzy: :curse: :confused: :curse: :hmm:

You could try changing the hertz rate on your monitor to 75.

Right click on desktop
Properties
Settings
Advanced
Monitor
75 hertz

COuld also be problems with some settings in your WMP just fiddle with them abit and could get what you need. I use winamp personally..

it didnt change anything and sorry i was wrong everything is dark i just didnt notice any i can change the gamma directly....my mmonitor brightness and what not are at max also i run at 1024 X 768 (i thinks thats it) would that affect anything

Do you have the latest version of DirectX? I think maybe that may fix the problem, you can also test your gcard to see if it's working correctly by typing this string in run after you have installed DX.
