Talking Sound cuts out after continuously playing for about 1/2 and hour.

When playing windows media player or trying to watch a video of sorts, the sound plays up, comes on and then stops for no reason. If I press stop and then play, it starts playing straight away and then cuts out every couple of minutes for about 1/2 an hour and then cuts out all together and does not come back on until you restart the comp. I am not very comp savvy so please help me to understand what is going wrong.

Cheers

Why did you post 3 topics on this? Un-install it and re-install it. Or it could be your memory just gets low.

sorry idnew, comp kept freezing up and when I went to check if it had posted, I couldnt see it. When I had realised that it did indeed post 3 times I tried to delete the other 2 posts but wasnt sure how to. I thought I had deleted the other 2 posts by unsubcribing from them. So now I know, it didnt work. As for uninstall and reinstall, I have tried this but does the same thing, as for being low in memory, I have plenty of memory left.

thanks
efty

I have a feeling the two issues are related. Have you done a virus scan lately and is your AV up to date? Might be a good idea to do an on-line scan. Here's a couple of links to two good on-line scanners;

You might also consider posting a HiJack This log in the Cybersafety forum and let the security experts take a look. Be sure to read the sticky posts at the top and follow their directions.

Hope this helps you resolve your issues.

Ok first have you defragged lately? If not that might be the reason for your freezing up so boot to safe mode and defrag first.
