hi there can anyone help with this weird problem, i have windows 98 S.E on a custom built computer that has a amd athlon 1000 chip.( the mother board is a jet way not sure of the model number i think it is an 633 as pro)
when trying to boot up computer, i get the message "cpu fan not connected" and a long bleeping noise then the computer shuts down.I know that the fan is connected and working fine, i know this some thing to do with a bios setting, and can be changed but the computer shuts down so fast it wont let me get into bios to change it, any suggestions i dont know much about computers so any step by step help with procedure would be appreciated

many thanks

You can get to the BIOS by tapping on F2 as it's booting or whatever yours says when it's booting for setup.

Try installing drivers for that motherboard. Go HERE (http://www.driver-downloads.com/computer-manufacturer-j.htm)

After thought can you get to a DOS prompt or does it just shut down with you?

Why not post your request in the CTH Hardware (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16) forum, bladerider. Plenty of experienced folks there with knowledge on build-your-owns.
