Shutdown
My computer has started shutting down of its own accord what could be the cause of this? Thanks

Hi alyl. One common cause of this is the CPU overheating. Most PC's have a hardware monitor in the bios which will show your CPU temperature. Next time it reboots itself, go into the bios (usually by hitting the 'Delete' key when it does its memory check) and see if you can find a hardware monitor. Post your CPU / Motherboard temperature. If you feel comfortable taking the case off your computer, make sure all fans are running and aren't caked full of dust and grime.

Not the fans
all the fans are working okay. The computer shts down sometimes when it has been on for5 minutes or after several hours ,or it can shut down repeatedly. the other problem that occurs is that the monitor messes up eg.has lines going both up and down and can hardly see the graphics.
