The Monster Cod
Len and Andy were having a beer in the local when a man came in carrying a huge sack. Len told Andy:
"This is the bloke that caught the monster cod. You can ask him about it yourself."
Andy approached the newcomer:
"How big was the cod you reckon you caught, mate?"
"Well, it was too big to fit on my lorry, so I hacked its head off with the axe. I had to bring some evidence to convince the blokes of its size."
"You don't mean to say that big thing in the bag is its head?"
"No way. I couldn't carry the head by myself. This is one of its eyes."

Far away in the tropical waters of the Caribbean two prawns were swimming around, one called Justin and the other called Christian.
They were constantly being hassled and bothered by sharks that patrolled the area. Finally one day, Justin said to Christian, "I'm bored and frustrated at being a prawn. I want to be a shark, then I wouldn't have any worries about being eaten."
As Justin had his mind firmly fixed on becoming a shark, a mysterious cod appears and says, "Your wish is granted" and lo and behold, Justin turns into a shark.
Horrified, Christian immediately swims away afraid of being eaten by his old mate. Time goes by and Justin becomes bored and lonely as a shark. All his old mates swam away soon as he came near. Justin didn't realise his menacing appearance was the cause of his sad plight.
One day while out swimming alone, he sees the mysterious cod again and can't believe his luck. He begs the cod to change him back to a prawn and lo and behold, he does.
With tears of joy in his tiny little eyes he swims back to his friends and buys them all a cocktail. Looking around the gathering on the reef, he asks where his friend Christian is. "He's at home distraught since his best friend became a shark," says one of the prawns.
Eager to put things right, he sets off to Christian's house. As he opens the coral gate, memories come flooding back to him. He bangs on the door and shouts, "It's me, Justin, your old friend! Come out and see me again!"
Christian replied, "No way man, you are the enemy and I won't be tricked."
Justin cried back, "No that was the old me. I've changed, " I've seen Cod and I'm a prawn again Christian!"

Perfection itself is COD who is COD.
Coddy coddy cod cod cod,
cod cod.
This is very easy, what seems to be the problem?

I don't eat fish of any kind. I hear that if you take some fresh cod just out of the water and dump salt on it then stick in in the fridge later when you take it out there will be worms crawling out of it from all over. Hence I don't eat it or any fish really.

A small, ambiguous piece of fish that never knows if it's cod or haddock. Some people claim that "scrod" is a young cod, while "schrod" is a young haddock, but, in fact, there's no difference - it's basically whatever's cheaper at the fish pier that day. :D

I once had the good fortune to stay in Turnberry Golf Club. Abroath Smokies for breakfast. OMG, fantastic.
Bearing in mind I had a "single malt frenzy" hangover, I think it was fresh fresh Abroath kippers with potato gratin on top.
I could take or leave kippers up untill that point, but boy was I converted that morning.
Second favourite, freshly caught whiting off Porthcawl pier, breadcrumbs, fresh lemon juice, stick 'em under the grill. Luverly.
Still going up Finnegans tonight for cod chips and share a clarkes pie with the young 'un.

When i was 4 i nearly choked to death on a spangle, if it hadn been for the quick reactions of a man in the bus shelter my mum says i wouldnt have been here.
If it hadnt been for a passer by i also would have drown in my local pond, trying to catch baby ducks when i was 8.
However i still say you cant beat fish n chips, curry sauce or mushy peas,Salt and vinegar put on in the shop. Wrapped up and brought home.BEAUTIFUL. (old norfolk turkey saying)

Picture if you will an elderly, maritime gnome
sitting on the seashell that he calls home.
Surrounded as he is by the next generation.
Teaching them to fish. Basking in their veneration.
A shape approaches looking like a shadow itself.
Flat and round, it makes its way up the continental shelf.
Its size provokes in the younger gnomes a sense of alarm.
One asks the elder "Is there not a danger of harm?"
The elder gnome grins until the fish takes the bait
when he's whisked off his shell by this piscine plate.
Dragged into the sea while the youngsters holler and cry.
They don't know what to do. They're convinced he will die.
But the elder swims back before things get too maudlin.
He laughs at their expressions and says with a grin
"It is of course well known from riverbank to holm
that wherever you go there is no plaice likes gnome."
