Please help. After closing the AIM messaging window the AOL running man icon automatically minimizes to the systems tray. Is there a way I can close the messaging window and not have the AOL icon stay in my systems tray. In other words, I want it to completely shut down. Thanks for any assistance can provide.

you can disable the programme by going to start run and typing MSCONFIG this will open up the system configuration utility> Go to start up tab find aim and uncheck. Then it should not be loaded.

Not every version of windows has MSCONFIG. 2000 for example. If you don't have it you can download it from here:

Or, try Start Menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools ->
System Information. Then Software Environment and Startup Programs.
