Dear Sir/Madam,

Hi! My name is Apoorva. I am facing problem in Outlook Express 6. The attachments are not displayed in the message and it shows the message on a yellow line background that: "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail: Fwd_"

The same is the problem with other emails with attachment..

I am using Windows 2000 Professional and have installed Service Pack 3 some few weeks ago....

Please help...
Apoorva.

Hi Apoorva - welcome to CTH. Try this. Open Outlook Express and click on the Tools Menu. Choose Options (at the bottom of the pull-down menu bar) and click on the Security tab.

In the section for Virus protection, there are two check boxes, "Warn me when other applications try to send mail as me." and "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.". The first check box, "Warn me...", should be checked (if not already checked). The second check box, "Do not allow attachments...", is more than likely the cause of your problems. If it is checked, uncheck it.

Now send yourself an email with an attachment and see if it gets through.
