Desktop and other graphics are distorted
I recently installed Norton Systemworks on my husbands computer. After doing so I turned the computer off and restarted it. When it came back on there is an error that states the resolution is too low, so I tried to change it by right clicking on the desktop, property settings, changing screen resolution and color quality, the change takes, so I restart again and it goes back to the same default setting as before. The colors on the desktop and whole computer are distorted, can't read anything. I have tried re-setting this several times and it goes back to the way it was. I turned it on this morning and the display colors looks fine, what could be wrong, although the error came up again about the resolution being too low. I went into device manager shows display as being 800 x 600 pixels highest 32 setting. No default monitor listed. I clicked adapter information and that is blank, unknown manufacturer. This is the same computer that I have tried to load SP2 on with errors so I have not loaded that again either, for fear of not getting into the internet. So if you could help again, as you all always do I would appreciate any help.

mskitty, Hi
I've suffered some of these symptoms myself and I eventually fixed them by reinstalling video card drivers. You could also check System Properties/ Device Manager for any conflicts (warning signs). However since you don't seem to have had any problems prior to the Norton installation you might try another thread. Perhaps hardware or XP? Regards, Alan |
