Hey all,

I just had the idea of setting up a wireless network in my home over the summer the plan is to have a desktop and a laptop on the network and a printer I am confused though about how it will work and if its possible to do what I want to do using is on a dial-up internet connection but its not as much for the internet as it is for being able to have my laptop be able to print without having to hook cords and move cords and all that! Is this possible?

Appoximately how much am I looking at spending! Is it as simple as buying the router and the 2 cards and installing and thats it or will I have to go with dsl and buy a new printer I have a lexmark z43

Any help or suggestions or people who are running a wireless network would be appreciated!

This article should explain a lot (http://www.howstuffworks.com/wireless-network.htm) as far as wireless LAN's go.

I think you need a network-capable printer to be able to send print jobs from your laptop, but I'm no 'printer guru'. I have a tough time getting the paper to go in the right slots...........

I am not good with networks but as long as a printer is hooked to a computer turn on which has print sharing enabled it should would, otherwise you need what he said or a printer server.
