I just purchased a use PC, running Windows 2000. The unit booted up fine with no problem, it was running great. For some dumb reason I decided to set the Administrator Password. User name: Administrator, Password: 1234.
Then I reset the PC for the Password to take. Now the dam PC is not taking my password! Is there anyway around this? If I have to reinstall windows, I don't have the original OS disk. I have a copy. Let me know if there is something I can do.

Hi there! I'm not laffing, but I AM smiling! If it weren't for these dolls on this forum, I wuldn't know what I do!
To my knowledge, to change this, you go into BIOS , tapping F1? at booting up, and simply change your password to absolutely blank--nothing--and reput in absolutely nothing again to confirm, and boot that puppy back up, and it should go. When the screen comes back up and says administrator, then password, just hit ENTER and you're in---Mishy, Degsy, am I right? Please assist!! Thanks, Trish:kiss:

Thanks I will try that. The bois has a password on it also. The previous own made a guess at what the password is but is not 100% sure. If I can't get the password for the bois is there anyway around this?

This is the Windows administrator password you changed? If so, and you don't know any other user accounts on the machine you can log onto that have administrator rights you are going to have to reinstall.

Is it applicable in this situation that method where you take the plastic cap off the jumper on the motherboard for a moment, and that resets the password?:hmm:
