video capture software

I have just purchased and yet to recieve the ATI AIW 9600 256MB Video capture/graphics card. Will I need to purchase a better capture software for making DVD's from home movies and copy VHS movies to DVD? IF so what is a good one out there that isnt too expensive? I have used Adobe Primiere but there is so much to learn, and its pretty expensive.
Thanks

Are you not getting software with it?
ATI ships with it's own Media Center software that enables you to capture in various formats.

When I got my AIW it came with the Cyberlink packeges.

If not I would probably use Ulead.
