Rename Utility with Command Line Capabilities
I am looking for a folder rename utility with command line capabilities, so that I don't have to babysit the process. I found Lupas Rename 2000, and it almost does what I want, but it does require some human interaction. Does anyone know of any other utilities out there that might be able to help me?

If what you're trying to accomplish can be done with native command line commands, you could use a batch file to do batch renaming. Also I'm not sure, but this tool might be able to do it via the command line.
EDIT: Just confirmed, that utility does provide (slightly limited) command line operation, it's described in the help file.

It does not appear that you can rename folders with that utility. I did explore Lupas Rename's command line options, but it won't let you rename folders without going through the GUI.

I ran that utility I suggested. It does allow batch renaming of folders, both in the GUI and via the command line. To do so:
Go to the Actions page Select the action you want to do (eg. String replacement) Define that action's parameters (eg. replace "New Folder" with "Photos") Click the button that looks like 4 grey squares with the top right square slightly out of place (this will add the action to a batch) Define other actions as necessary, adding them to the batch as above When you've defined all the actions you need, click the save button (an orange disk icon) Save the file somewhere, eg c:\renamefolders.arb Now, to run the program, use the command: Renamer.exe -b c:\renamefolders.arb -aF c:\images\*.* What that will do is load your batch actions file (so it knows WHAT to do) and perform it on all the folders in the C:\images directory (so it knows WHERE to do it). Adjust as necessary. All the instructions for doing so are in the help file, like I pointed out before.
