I'm trying to fix this for my niece
It's a DELL Latitude
128meg ram 1gig processor
10gig hard drive, WIN2000 Pro

The computer worked great until last week
when the father tried to install an external Iomega ZIP drive.
The Software was installing fine then it froze with a BSOD stating

***STOP : 0x0000007B (0xF082B84C, 0x0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed
hard drives or hard drive controllers,
Check your hard drive that it is properly configured and terminated.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then
restart your computer.

Refer to your Getting Started manual for information on
troubleshooting Stop errors.
Tried what the BSOD said with no luck.
Tried all the options in the Safe Mode menu, no luck.
all returns the same BSOD upon start.

However using Linux Knopix i can boot the computer
and see the reinstallation files i386/WINNT.EXE
I just have no way to execute the WINNT file

If I boot with a win98 boot disk it can't see the NTFS partition.

This laptop has interchangeable CD and floppy drive modules.

Created the 4 floppy disks from bootdisk.com
but when i try to boot from them, selecting Diskette as first boot device
from the on screen menu and press Enter, nothing happens
just a black screen.

So I guess my question is does anyone know
of a win2000pro boot disk that will see the NTFS partition
and allow me to execute the WINNT.EXE.

Gstone4911,
Go to this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822052#XSLTH3120120134120121120120
Scroll down to section on Stop: 0x0000007B when installing IOmegaware. You will need Win2K CD or boot disk set to perform this "hack" trick. Boot disks can be created from Win2K Pro CD per this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/advanced/help/default.asp?url=/windows2000/en/advanced/help/creating_floppy_disks_for_starting_a_disabled_syst em.htm
