Delayed mouse click response

I have a music program which has a "Play" button which you have to click with the mouse to operate. A midi setup is involved and .mus files are being played.
What always happens is that you have to click that button about 10 times before the system responds and plays the file. The mouse IRQ is 12 and there does not seem to be a conflict with that.
Does anybody have any suggestion as to what causes this? The integrated graphics and the Audigy soundcard have the same IRQ but these have been assigned automatically and the "change" routine is "greyed out" with a warning not to try to change them.

It possibly sounds like a RAM issue (Not enough). What are your computer specs? Does the music play if you click play once but wait for ten seconds?

Also is there any updates for this music program? Which one is it?

Ram is 512 mb The button does not respond unless you keep on pressing repeatedly. The other buttons within the program (Finale) respond normally.

It sounds like a software issue. I would try re installing first or looking for an update. If neither work I would email Finale's support/customer service
