My download speeds are 500b/s on average. Yes you heard me, bytes, not kilobytes. When downloading with the browser I get speeds of up to 600kb/s. If anybody could provide me with a guide to increasing my speed it would be greatly appreciated.
Information
BitTorrent Application: Azeurus
Internet Provider: Rogers
Router: DI-604 (D-Link)
Operating System: Windows XP Professional

I'm not entirely sure this is the correct solution, but you could try using a different client. My preferred client is BitTornado; it's never ever let me down before so I used it and never looked back.
I tried some other ones including Azeurus and it just didn't give me enough control over the settings.
Hope this helps.

I have tried almost every BitTorrent client and I always get the same speed. I think it has something to do with my router or my internet provider.

Have you tried port-forwarding? Clients use different ports and in some instances they dectect a router and do it automatically for you. Let me know whether you have any of that going on.

I have tried portforwarding and opening ports too.

Hmm sorry then, that's going beyond me. I've never heard of such a speed before, let alone such a problem. :S

Yup. I'm hoping some sort of tech guru will see this and write me a good guide on how to fix this problem with my specific router. But the chances of that are slim to none.

This happens with every torrent I have ever downloaded, on every bittorrent application.

Yeah that was my initial thought, maybe it's the trackers. But if you tried many different sources then it's probably not, if you suspect it's your ISP you could try using different computers. And even the less-popular torrents can take even half an hour to get a connection at all.
