Unhappy opening up drive

I have two hard drives c&d my cdrom is e drive. when I turned my computer on, it would not load windows my cdrom light stayed on and my red polling light stayed on. when I looked for my d drive, it had converted to my cdrom drive and my e drive was no where to be found. can anyone help me fix this and configure my drives?

Hi there celestial, welcome to the forums.

There are a number of things that could cause this to happen.

Don't panic - most are simple to fix if you can help us by letting us know a bit more about your situation.

Can you answer these questions to the best of your ability:
If you don't understand anything I ask, post a reply and we'll explain...

1) Does your PC have two PHYSICAL hard disks or were C & D two partitions on the same disk?

2) Did you open the PC and touch anything inside before this happened or even just move the base/tower?

3) Did you install or uninstall any software immediately prior to this happening?

4) What sort of computer is it (Make & model if "off-the-shelf" of some more detail if it's home-made)?
