It's either the drivers need reinstalling or the keys or key combination that turns the touchpad off has been inadvertently pressed.

Post back in this thread with the make and model of the laptop and the operating system installed on it to help us help you.

According to what I can find, your laptop should have shipped with a user manual and, among other things, a "Drivers and Utilities" CD.

Look through the user manual for information on the touchpad and whether it can be enabled/disabled with a keyboard key or key combination and how to use the Drivers and Utlities CD to reinstall drivers.

You can also put the Drivers and Utilities CD in the CD drive and see what help it offers.
