As i can tell by looking around, many of you know a ton about computers. Well, i have a big computer problem. I hope you can help.

Well, i had a computer, and it was getting very slow, so i just went out and bought a new one. Now, i want to use that old computer, and reformat, so its usable. When i turn on the old computer, it beeps every 3-5 Seconds. I am not sure what it is. I have the computer apart, so i can get to everything internally. I am in the process of cleaning it, but do any of you have any other advice on how to fix this problem? I would really like to get this computer up and running.

Thank you,
Owned4u

the beeps are code telling you something is not right. is the computer running the power on self test (p.o.s.t.) ? anything else coming up? look up a beep code list (try www.bioscentral.com) is moniter working ? mouse ? keyboard ? can you enter the bios ? let's get some more answers and we can prob get this thing rocking.
