I can not get it to download, it was having problems before so I uninstalled it. When I went to reinstall it I keep getting an error message. "Could not load the DLL library. The specified module could not be found." Could you direct me what to do.

Now the way you downloaded yahoo messenger was going to www.yahoo.com (http://www.yahoo.com) and going to the messenger download on there website?

If so. try installing this that was used to install yahoo messenger on my friends computer that wasnt able to install because theres one that is like under 400KB and then it downloads the messenger into the yahoo folder.

As im guessing because my friend said it worked for him.

I have uploaded this to a website you can get it at.

the file is called " ymsgrie.exe " 4.76MB

Go to this URL http://www.uploading.com/?get=9KGUKC7V
Enter the 3 letters or numbers in the box.
Wait for about 20 Seconds. and then download.

ok, I tried that and got this message, and yes I tried downloading again at www.yahoo.com "this application has failed to start because pcre.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

The File " pcre.dll " is able to be downloaded from the DLL-files.com

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?pcre

now according to what i think i found that the file pcre.dll
lies with the following path

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger or suppose to be. if the file is not there try downloading it and then replaceing it.

this is a picture of the files that is in the path
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger

I d/l the file. Now it says I have to have a program to open it woth. I do not want to have to purchase an extraction program just to extract this one file. Is there another way to do this?

The file you downloaded is a ZIPed file, i dont understand why you wasnt able to open the zip file because Windows XP should open it already. but if not download WinRAR then open and continue on and see if it works out.

http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar351.exe
(Once its installed Extract the dll into the Yahoo Folder)

ok, I did that now I get another error code  This application failed to start because yml.dll was not found. I really wish to start completely over with this download process. If there is a way to entirely remove every component of yahoo messenger from my computer and reinstall fresh I would rather do that then to go through trying to patch up and replace missing files. Please advise.

I have posted problems in other forums. I have had great responses and gotten great help. This is the first time I have unsatisfactory help and no response to my posts. I am not happy with this.

Hi there. Sorry nobody has had any answers to this problem for you.

Here is what I would suggest.
1) make sure all Yahoo components are uninstalled from the Windows Add/Remove list
2) Use a registry cleaner to clean any remnants of Yahoo
3) Try this one: http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html
