I'm unable to find specific information about TweakUI, only general. What can this program do for my computer? Thanks.

Hi Puro, your link is about like all the others I've seen. They tell me that TweakUI is a very useful program. Useful for what? I've been searching google all day trying to find out what the program does. Can I tweak my monitor to suspend itself in midair, saving me much needed desk space? :) Can I tweak my modem to connect without an isp thus saving me a monthly bill? :) Does it have a purpose other than being useful? Am I asking for too much here! :)
LOL, I've never had so much trouble trying to find out what a program does before. Its a very useful program. That's all I've learned about it so far. :)
....so the search continues...

Probably best to look for yourself:

What it really comes down to is all versions of Windows are infinitely more tweakable than the standard Windows GUI allows.
To get the most out of Windows you need to edit system files & registry settings.
Unless you want to learn registry editing, a Tweak Program is what you need to do these tweaks for you.
TweakUI is not teh only one available. Xteq Xsetup is another good one (and is actually considered by many to be better than TweakUI)

Well, thanks to all of you, I've now learned a lot about tweaking programs, and might go out and find one.
But can I find one that does all the stuff Dopey described in his second post?:D
Honestly, I was LOL as I read your post, Dopey. Thanks for the chuckles. I understand your frustration and admire your ability to laugh about it.

Thanks to all for the informative data.
Puro: Yeah, that's what I was looking for. I just wanted to know what it could do.
Smurfy: When I went to the site you recommended my first thought was Jeez, how many tweakui's are there??? Thanks also for the Xteq Xsetup. I'll look into it also.
JohnS: I have to laugh about it; No more hair to pull out. :)

Good point Eric (not well made though).
1stly ANY application has the potential to cause havoc with Windows if not installed properly but any Tweak program is inherantly more risky due to the very nature of what it is doing.
I would not use on anything less that Win98 (because 95 does not have scanreg backups to fall back on when it causes problems.
If you do a tweak that messes things up and you can't recover from it, scanreg /restore from a DOS boot will allow you to recover.
Personally I have never had a problem with XSetup even on Win95.
