View Full Version : Office Word 2003 Glitch?

If I have a document open in Microsoft Word 2003 that I'm working on, and I put my jump drive/flash drive into one of the USB ports and then select "Save As," the computer won't register the drive. I have to click "cancel," and then do "Save As" a second time for the jump drive to appear, regardless of how much time lapses before I attempt the first "Save As" and what brand of jump drive I use. Is this a glitch in the program, or is it fixable? (It sure is irritating...) I would appreciate any input.

Does it only happen in Word?
What about other programs? Other office programs?

No, it's only in Word; I don't have this problem in Excel.

Does it do the same if you try to save as a different file name?
Either way, after a bit of research it seems that Word does not like Flash drives and floppies.
It is recommended to copy the work to the HDD and when finished save it back to the Flash drive.

Yes; it doesn't matter what I attempt to save it as.
