Question outlook express 5

does anyone know what would cause outgoing email to occasionally appear garbled?

i've had a few people tell me every other looks like nonsense-i thought maybe it was their browser..or maybe a setting in outlook?

but the majority says it looks alright to them

Yes this is because they have disabled html in emails (or their email program does not support it) This probably happened when yuo used stationary or somethignother than plain text. I think by garbled you mean somethign like(maybe more complicated):

<html><head><title>m</title></head>
<body><img src ="blah.jpg"><a href="hi.html">Ouch</a></body></ht
ml>

must be they disabled it-i just send it plain text,no stationary or anything like that..

one actually said it kind of looked like cyrillic not like html-
it'll say yp and have 2 dots over the ' y '..
another said it was black block lettering?

but this is only 3 people out of many-so i'm assuming it must be them? :cheesy:

Hi wolffreeborn - occasionally a message can be corrupted in transit and as you say the problem might be at the end of the recipient. Some viruses can also cause the text to look garbled (klez is one). You probably have already checked for viruses however it probably wouldnt hurt to run a free online scanner and get a second opinion. You might like to try Housecall.

Well, thats one possiblity eliminated.

As you say, three of out many, I would hazard a guess that either the messages were corrupted in transit or the problem is at their end.
