I need help on a very large project.. you guys can run away now if you want. Well here it goes.

I work for a University Hospital, my sub division is 160 users. Last year I converted these users from win95 with novell clients to win2000 novell client 4.83 sp1. I did this by using Power Quests Deploy center. I can image one computer every 20 or so minutes.
When I got this job the network was in shambles and I have been getting it back to speed. I have learned alot since and this is what I need help with now.

1. Being able to broadcast multiple images to computers via mac address or static ip. In a perfect world I would like it to be wake on lan. Imaging one computer at a time is too slow.

2. Windows Profiles need to be roaming. Each Hospital employee has their own unique network drive H: which they can store their data on. I thought I could somehow store profiles there.

3. In order to keep things up to date on these computers without causing significant downtime these first to steps need to be taken. Then I can move on to further developments.

4. Create new images with XP
Limitations
1. I have admin rights to individual computers but not novell.
2. I am stuck with novell and I cannot get away from it.
3. I am severly limited as to what I can interfer with server wise.
4. I have one server that I have for imaging computers with powerquest deploy center

My goal is to image everything as fast as possible, keep everything up to date to require as little man power as possible.

Thanks for listening

I think I can answer some of your questions.

1. - Are you trying to send the same image to the all PC's?, You can multicast from one device to as many PC's but you will need a boot disk to start the process

2. Yes you can, but assuming that you are using ZENworks as you can create a w/s poilcy that will store the profile up to the H:

Once you get this far we can expand as this is not a simply topic.

But I work for a large company and we can rebuilt a new PC's and configure for end user use it in 45mins and all we have to do is put a build disk and type in an asset number and pull the floppy disk out 3 mins later and the system will do the rest and this is only using std software. So you can do but it took us a couple of years to get it this way

So there is hope.
