Remote Desktop RDP Keyboard Problem

I was messing about trying to get remote desktops up and running tonight and I have really messed up. I did something on my laptop and clicked on something that has caused me to have saved an RDP file as default for log in.
Now my keyboard has special functions but they wont go away. I cant enter passwords for sites or type properly now! I tried right clicking the RDP file and editing but as my keyboard is not typing the correct letters I cant change anything like that!
Can anyone tell me how I undo this stupid behaviour I have caused please?
I tried xp restore but its still there.
Any help appreciated
ps I have xp pro.
Thanks
Meloncolly
