This is related to WinPCap. Have you installed it on your PC?

i have NPFS.SYS in the system32 folder(OS : WINXP) . I found thru a website that if NPF.sys is present in the system folder then it might be thru a malware.I did find an entry in the registry for NPF as well as for NPFS
Registry Location Is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\NPF\

is NPFS related to a malware.... how do i tackle it

NPFS.sys is part of Windows networking. NPF is part of WinPCap. Answer z1p's question and we can help you...

Also, if you think you may have a malware problem, you can post a HighJackthis log in the cybersafety forum and ask them to give it a once over. (Have some patience as they are busy most of the time and may take a little while to get to something like a health check.)
