Setting up my little network

I seem to be having trouble setting up the little network between my PC and laptop, using Windows Network setup wizard. After making sure my PC and laptop etc are all switched on, I select the
’Computer (my PC) connects directly to the Internet, other computers (my laptop) connects to the Internet through this computer.’ Which they do.

Windows selects my LAN connection, then I get the message
'Cannot complete Network. In addition to its Internet connection, this computer must have a connection to your network.’

So I am obviously missing something, but what?

It sounds like you are trying to set up Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) in XP.

Have a little read here : http://www.winplanet.com/article/2313-.htm

Although they refer to a wired router, the ICS issue would be the same.
It should give you a general pointer I think.
