how far are you from the wireless router/access point?
point the antena in the direction of the router and keep it as far away from metal objects (including the tower) as the cable allows

If you don't have a router then how are you connecting to your connection? What sort of ISP do you have? Is this a wireless ISP with a tower near you in town or are you trying to connect to a wireless signal that you pick up from another place?
