Wireless connection - working but not autobooting
Hello and thanks for reading this message
I have just joined the world of broadband and have set up my connection succesfully with a wireless router (NetGear MA 111 802.11b USB). I am very happy apart from a snag in that when I reboot or restart the PC it doesnt find the USB "ariel" - in order to get it working I have to unplug it and then plug it back in, and then it is found. Lets say I have just turned on the PC again - if I go to device manager under USB devices it is there as "unknown device"... all drivers are loaded and correct. Then, lets say I have unplugged it and replugged it (and am connected) - under device manager now it shows up as "USB Root Hub" - which if I explore further by going, Properties>Power shows up in the description correctly (Netgear MA....) , along with my other USB device plugged into port 1 (namely a Midi converter). Can anyone suggest what could be at issue here? Thanks in advance, nik P.S. I have also noticed that the Netgear Configuration program is Running at Start Up, although it doesnt show up anywhere until I replug in the USB key. Thanks everyone... |
