OK what i'm going to suggest is either using a floppy drive, Partitioning the drive and using DOS commands to move the files to the new partition. OR using someone's high speed connection downloading Knoppix! Live on CD. KNoppix is a GREAT program, i use it when i encounter situations similar to yours. It is basically and operating system on a CD, it doens't use the Hard drive and boots your computer with full abilities (most of the time including flash drives). It's about 650Mb, so use a high speed connection, burn the ISO file and voila.. The site is http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html
OR if you want to avoid all that you can use Ubuntu, another OS live on CD, totally free, and they'll even ship it to you free (no catch, no strings, free.. [great isn't it?]). that site is https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ I have less experieince with Ubuntu at this point. but i would be glad to help you in any way possible

BTW in DOS you cna't access you flash drive (when you just see the C: you are in DOS). the drivers aren't available for it (unless you have a very new Computer, which if you have ME isn't likely). HOPE THIS HELPS! BTW did you try and get your comp to boot? perhaps we can make it!

I went to that site but there were so many that could be downloaded I didn't know which one was right.
Another problem I'v e had is that I can't even format the hard drive. The recovery disk I have starts to do it and then comes up with the message that the CD is damaged. I used another windows ME disk and tried to format but that wouldn't work either.
