Sometimes it is best to get the same brand as the Wireless Access Point/Router.
Especially if they have propriety speed boosting systems.

Are you running 98 or 98 Second edition? You want to be very careful and get a wireless card that is supported for windows 98.

I used the D-Link 630 with my laptop running Windows 98 second edition. At the time I bought the card (about a year ago) D-Link claimed the software would work with windows 98 SE but I was unable to get it going. After several calls to their service center someone suggested that instead of using the D-link software, I should download the free software from Boingo, a commercial wireless provider. So I manually installed the D-Link driver and then the Boingo software and that did get the card communicating with my wireless router
