In trying to activate new PC Rescue software with supplied register code number I keep getting the following error message. Run-time error '5'. Invalid procedure call or argument. I cannot unlock the trial software. Contacted software supplier. They have been no help. How can I correct this error?

Sounds like a software issue, do you have the latest version/patches?
Try disabling your anti-virus software/or spyware program when installing it.
Other than that not sure what to tell you, this is a software issue and it has to be with the program itself.

Thanks for your suggestions. I can't figure out how to disable my antivirus software (AVG) though!

Anti-virus programs can cause software installations to fail. Check the README file or installation notes for nearly any software you own and it'll probably tell you the same thing.
Right mouse click your anti-virus icon and you will be given the option to disable.
When you are done installing the software, just right click your anti-virus icon again and choose "enable".
