I am trying to fix my neigbor's Hp Pavilion notebook computer which uses Windows ME. There are multiple problems.
One of the symptoms is that when I get to a Safe Mode window & it says to click here to start in Safe Mode, the mouse pointer freezes up, and I can't maneuver with the keyboard either to get out of that screen. So I have to power out to shut down, since Ican't do a normal shut down from there.
I did a Hijack This log on her computer but can't get it from her computer to mine(this one). Tried e-mailing it to me, but got mail server error. This is a separate problem, but I'm just alerting you before you advise me to attach a HJT log.
Any suggestions on the "Stuck in Safe Mode " problem? I did a Search on this Forum but the postings didn't address this particular problem.

Hello copal

Give this link (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;273738) a look over might help.

Thanks, Tweak. I'm checking. Hope I can decipher Microsoft Support' s language, though. I'll get back and let you know.
