View Full Version : NETGEAR Help Please?

Hi I wonder if anyone could help me out here, I am trying to install NETGEAR Wireless on a friend's PC and everything works fine until I have to set up the configuration settings for the modem.

The problem is that I put in my friend's username and password for AOL in which it says to do on the instructions but then nothing happens and what is supposed to appear on the next page isn't displayed, the things I have ticked and should be automatically assigned when applying the username and password is NOT doing so. The connection status is displaying Disconnected so I don't know what to do.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem and could help me out or if anyone could offer me advice on what to do, it would be much appreciated as I am stuck!

I have XP and the computer I am trying to get this Netgear working with is XP too, I am sure that is what you want to know. Thanks for the link I'll check it out now..

No the link takes me to what I have tried, by the rule but it didn't work, AOL would run no problem through the modem it came with, but with the router/modem it would not establish a connection even though the signal was excellent and all was working.
The problem occurs when I try and put in my username and password within settings on the router cd, if I click on establish connection automatically it will not find the connection and if I do it manually I am asked to put in my username and password for AOL and I do this all in lower case like what is said and when I apply these settings the other bits like IP etc etc should fill in themselves and take me to another screen, but instead it stays on the same screen or refreshes and stays on same screen.

If I click on connection status it says disconnected and if I press connect it just keeps trying to connect but can't.

I really need help here, hope to hear from you soon, thanks for your help so far.
