How do I make my personal website available online?

I have just completed creating a website using Dreamweaver. I would like to make it available online. Can someone pls tell me how I could do this or direct me to a site where I can educate myself on this topic.

Unless you want to host it yourself, which is not a good idea then you need a webhost.

For a personal site you could go for free, although I would recommend a budget host.

There are many free hosts about that will give you enough space to host your personal website. A few pages and images etc.

You may also want to see if you got any webspace with your ISP. Usually they give away free space to members.


Some free hosts are netfirms, tripod, geicities etc.
You will probably have to have adverts or popups.

I would recommend a budget host such as 34sp.com
less than £20 per year

£14 per year.

You will get good support if you advance in your website abilities.

I use them, you get 12GB transfer a month, 500mb space, 1 mysql database etc etc for £20 a year (+vat and domain).

hello, im unsure as to exactly how to work this message board as im brand new and am not familiar with message boards so hopefully i will know how to read any replies. I have created a website and i want to make it so people can find it in the search engines, i have no idea how to do this and also if i find a place how do i know if im being ripped off or scammed? can anyone recommend a legitimate place that will also explain to me, in easy terms, how to submit my website to the search engines. My email is **Email Address Removed** and the web address of my site is http://www.webspawner.com/users/grandmaslastwish/ Its nothing fancy as i had no idea how to make one and these people are charging me $5/month to have the website w/no ads etc.. is this a fair price or am i being scammed? i am not very computer savey obviously : ) any help would be greatly appreciated! You should make sure that your page conforms to standards
http://validator.w3.org/

And you should use keywords in your pages, but don't over use them as the search engine will blacklist you.
